Monster Cupcakes

Easy to make 60 Minutes



for the recipe Monster Cupcakes

For the Cupcakes:

12 cupcake cases
120 g cake flour
100 g plain flour
160 g caster sugar
3 tsp baking powder (15g)
115 g unsalted butter (softened)
120 g eggs (approx. 3 eggs)
½ cup milk (125ml)
1 tsp Queen Vanilla Bean Paste

To Decorate:

1 packet Dr. Oetker Designer Icing White
1 packet Dr. Oetker Designer Icing Pink
1 packet Dr. Oetker Designer Icing Blue
1 packet Dr. Oetker Neon Sugar
1 packet Dr. Oetker Writing Icing Choc & Caramel Flavoured



To prepare vanilla cupcakes see


To Decorate:

Choose your Designer Icing colour and add the star nozzle to the pack.


Holding the icing pack upside down, squeeze gently and pipe 'stars' all over the surface of your cakes.


On white Designer Icing monsters, sprinkle with your favourite neon sugar.


Using White Designer Icing with a star or plain nozzle, create eyes on your monsters. Tip: use your fingertip to smooth and flatten the eye.


Use Chocolate or Caramel Writing Icing to make pupils on the eyes and to create a mouth for your monsters.


Allow to set for at least 30 minutes before serving or store in an airtight container for up to two days.


Eyes can also be made using small amounts of white ready to roll icing. Use Dr. Oetker Edible Wafer Cupcake Cases for an extra special monster cupcake.
